We have tried other math programs, but Singapore math works best for us. It is very visual, which appeals to my son and also really helps him understand the concepts, not just how to do the problems. I also like the emphasis on mental math. I don't make my son do every problem; he only has to do enough problems to show that he understands the concepts and knows how to do them.
